Size Guide
How to Read Your Tire Size
Every motorcycle tire has its size printed on the sidewall. Here is what each part of a size like 120/70ZR17 58W means.
Width
The tire's width in millimeters, measured from sidewall to sidewall.
Aspect Ratio
Sidewall height as a percentage of the width. A 70 means the sidewall is 70% as tall as the tire is wide.
Construction
R = Radial, the modern standard with a flexible sidewall. B = Bias-belted, a stiffer diagonal-ply build. A Z before the R means the tire is rated above 149 mph.
Rim Diameter
The wheel size the tire is built to fit, in inches.
Load Index
The maximum weight the tire can carry when properly inflated. A 58 equals 520 lbs.
Speed Rating
The maximum speed the tire is rated for. A W equals 168 mph.
